Abstract
490,278. Cathode-ray tubes. RADIOAKT.-GES. D. S. LOEWE. Feb. 10, 1937, No. 4793/38. Divided out of and addition to 480,521 under which a Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Nov. 23, 1936. [Class 39 (i)] In a cathode-ray tube adapted for use with different numbers of scanning lines wherein the image point is produced by an electronoptical lens 4 as the image of the aperture in the diaphragm 1, the size of the image point is regulated by variation of the potential of the diaphragm ; the potential of the anode 4 is kept constant, and is not simultaneously varied to keep the image intensity constant, as described in the parent Specification. The potential of the intermediate electrode 2 is obtained from a fixed tapping on the potentiometer 9 connected across the anode supply 4<1>, and the focus of the lens 2, 4 remains unaltered when the potential of the diaphragm is varied. A preliminary lens 7, 8 lights up the diaphragm 1.
