[Class 102 (i)] [Also in Groups XVIII and XXVI] In a lubricating-apparatus a low-pressure cylinder 156 discharges into a high-pressure cylinder 194 and effects the upward stroke of the high-pressure plunger 196. If the latter is not being operated it is maintained in the raised position by the lubricant pressure, the lubricant being discharged to the hose 210 at low pressure. The low-pressure bucket 166 is operated by a piston 158, the lower face of which is constantly exposed to the pressure of compressed air admitted to a chamber 176 by a pipe 174. Air is distributed to the upper faces of the piston 158 and a piston 212 which operates the plunger 196, by two valves 186, each operated from the corresponding pistonrod through toggle mechanism 238. The air passes through a hollow bolt 178 or 178a to the corresponding valve 186 and, in the lower position of the valve, passes through a hollow bolt 190 to the corresponding cylinder. In the raised position of the valve the air exhausts from the cylinder through the bolt 190 and passages 236. The passage to the high-pressure motive cylinder 214 is also controlled by a stop valve 192, operated by a cam plate 216, which can be turned by means of a thumb piece 224. The pump mechanism is carried by the cover 256 of a casing, which is mounted on wheels and encloses the container 10a. Specification 461,213, [Group XVIII], is referred to.
