694,917. Rotary pumps. TEVES, A., TEVES, H., and TEVES, E. A., [trading as TEVES MASCHINENUND ARMATURENFABRIK KOMMANDIT-GES., A.] June 7, 1951 [June 7, 1950], No. 13555/51. Class 110(ii) [Also in Groups XXVIII and XXIX] The output of a combined sliding-vane and reciprocating-piston pump is controlled through displacement of the rotary pump casing 4, containing a ball-race, which varies the capacity of the latter pump and also the strokes of the vanes 3 which act as reciprocating pistons. The pump may be used in a hydraulic power hoist of. the type described in Specification 694,873, [Group XXIX]. the vane pump delivers liquid into a suction passage 8 leading to cylinders in a rotor 2 and the delivery from the undersides of vanes or pistons 3 passes to a passage 6 for use externally. When the passage 6 is throttled by partially closing a valve, pressure builds up and forces a piston 5 to the right to increase the size of the crescent-shaped chamber C and also the strokes of the vanes to increase the supply of liquid to the passage 6. An abutment 7 causes a pressure build-up in the crescent-shaped chamber, helping the piston 5, and also guides the liquid into the passage 8.
