Abstract

679,822. Revolving-cylinder pumps. BOULTON PAUL AIRCRAFT, Ltd., and MILLARD, D. J. May 9, 1949 [July 13, 1948], No. 18767/48. Class 102 (i) In a revolving-cylinder pump in which the cylinder block 19 revolves about a distributer valve 23 and the pistons 21 contact a reaction ring 34 carried in a frame 37 pivoted on a pin 40, the frame is also connected by a pin 42 to a rod 41 loaded by an adjustable spring 43 in a direction to give maximum delivery. The delivery pressure is prevented from rising above a predetermined maximum by the reaction on the frame 37 compressing the spring 43 to reduce the stroke of the pistons. The end of the rod 41 extends into the chamber 46 and has bores 51, 52 and the bore 51 is fitted with a nozzle. The chamber is filled with oil and the rod 41 is immersed in oil in the casing so that the arrangement acts as a dashpot. The adjustable nuts 49, 50 limit the stroke of the rod 41.
