Abstract

1,093,782. Reciprocating pumps. WISSENSCHAFTLICH-TECHNISCHES ZENTRUM PUMPEN UND VERDICHTER VEB. March 8, 1965, No. 9753/65. Heading F1A. A high pressure pump for delivering small quantities of liquid comprises a piston 4 connected to a piston rod 7 and having a displacement end 5 and a delivery end 6 working in a displacement chamber 8 and delivery chamber 9, respectively. Movement of piston 4 to the right, draws liquid into chamber 8 from a reservoir 10 via inlet valve 23. On movement to the left, liquid in chamber 8 is transferred to chamber 9 via bore 15, annular cavity 18, line 20 and valve 24. The next rightward stroke causes liquid to be discharged from chamber 9 via valve 26, and on the next leftward stroke excess liquid in chamber 8 is returned to reservoir 10 via valve 25. The spring loading on valve 26 is greater than that on valve 25.
