Abstract

1395352 Reciprocating pumps GREASE APPLIANCE CO Ltd 22 June 1973 [5 July 1972] 31342/72 Heading F1A [Also in Division F2] A pump comprises a cylinder housing 1 formed as an injection moulding of nylon, stepped bores 2, 3 respective pistons 7, 9 located in the bores and inter-connected by a rod 8 moulded integrally with the piston 7, a return spring 10, acting on the piston 9, a liquid supply intake 5 closed by a ball-valve 6 and a liquid delivery outlet 6a. The end of the bore 2 is closed by a screw cap 1a which has an inlet 11 through which compressed air is admitted to move the pistons 9 and 7 against the spring 10 whereby liquid is drawn into the bore 3 via inlet 5 and discharged therefrom via outlet 6a. Alternatively the pistons may be reciprocated by allowing compressed air into the cylinder on either side of the piston 9.
