Abstract

752,021. Revolving-cylinder pumps. OLZON, N. E. May 25, 1954 [June 25, 1953], No. 15394/54. Class 102(1). In a reciprocating pump for feeding oil burners, the pistons 4 are mounted in a cylinder block 3, rotated by shaft 2, and are maintained in contact with an inclined plate 7 by springs 10. The end of the block 3 contacts a valve surface having grooves 12, 13, connected to the source of supply and a groove 15 connected to the pump outlet. The cylinder capacities of the pump are greater than requirements and during the delivery stroke of a piston, the cylinder first communicates with the groove 13 and delivery from the pump commences when it communicates with groove 15. The pistons may be actuated by a part of the plate 7 having a reduced -inclination when delivery through groove 15 is taking place. The plate 7 is loaded by spring 9 and may be adjusted by screw 8. In a modification the pistons are arranged and actuated by an adjustable eccentric track.
