Abstract
780,568. Deep well diaphragm pump. PLEUGER, F. W., [trading as PLEUGER & CO.]. Feb. 16, 1956 [Feb. 17, 1955], No. 4903/56. Class 102(1). A deep well pump has a plurality of pistons 7, 71 and cylinder devices each associated with a pressure chamber 13, 13<SP>1</SP> filled with pressure transfer liquid. Each pressure chamber has an associated pumping chamber 15, 15<SP>1</SP> separated from it by a diaphragm 14, 14<SP>1</SP>. Each pumping chamber 15, 15<SP>1</SP> is adapted to draw from the well through a one-way inlet valve 16, 16<SP>1</SP> and deliver to the well riser 18 through a one-way outlet valve 17, 171. The pistons 7, 7<SP>1</SP> are driven in phase opposition by a cam or eccentric 6. The pump may incorporate a liquid filled pressure compensation chamber 19 connected to the pressure chambers 13, 13<SP>1</SP> through non- return valves 21, 21<SP>1</SP>.
