472,867. Automatic guns. KNORRBREMSE AKT.-GES. Sept. 15, 1936, No. 25167. Convention date. Sept. 19, 1935. [Class 92 (ii)] Relates to gas-operated guns in which the gas piston rod 4 is connected by a link 5 to a tilting breech block 1 and in which an extension 3 of the piston rod carries the firing pin 6 and bears against a return spring 7. According to the invention, the firing pin and the return spring are in alignment with the barrel in the firing position. In the form shown, the rear of the breech block has locking projections 8, 10 engaging recesses in the breech casing 2. The extension 3 extends across the barrel axis and has guides for button-like projections 18, 19 on the firing pin to allow for the tilting movement of the breech block. The breech block is retained in open position by the engagement of a scar 11 with the projection 10.
