Abstract
355,170. Automatic guns. DESTREE, J., 123, Chaussee St. Pierre, Brussels. Feb. 2, 1931, No. 3330. Convention date, Feb. 24, 1930. [Classes 92 (ii) and 119.] A gas-operated gun of the kind in which the rearward motion of the gas piston 7 is retarded by tapped gases acting on the rear face of the piston has the gas port 5 for the retarding gases arranged nearer the breech and of smaller size than the gas port 6 for the motive gases. The gases are directed on to each side of the piston by shaped projections 4f, 4d and the projection 4d serves to mask a gas-escape passage 4g in the cylinder. The piston-rod is connected to the breech-block, which is returned to closed position by a spring 8.
