Abstract

1,102,243. Machine guns. MAUSER WERKE A.G. 19 March, 1965 [20 March, 1964], No. 11910/65. Heading F3C. The two-part breech block of a machine gun is projected rearwardly against the recuperator spring 16 by a pair of gas pistons 27, 28 which first strike a projection 23c on the rear part 23 of the breech block and then strike a projection 22b on the front part 22 of the breech block, the momentum of the part 23 thereafter causing it to move ahead of and to entrain the part 22 by abutment of surfaces 23d, 22c. The two parts 22, 23 then move as one and are guided by the projections 23b, 22b engaging in grooves 24, 25 in the weapon body. On the recoil of the breech block a roller 19 enters a cam groove 20 on the belt-feed mechanism and advances the latter via the toothed rim 21.
