[Classes 36 and 38 (i)] A method of binding the insulation to the conductor at the end of a cable, or of insulating a joint between two cable ends, consists in applying in a wet condition over the cable end, or the joint, a cap or sleeve of viscose cellulose or other material which shrinks on drying. The caps may be of different colours so that different cables to which they are applied may be readily distinguished.
