[Class 38 (i)] A protective device for the bared end of an insulated conductor to prevent access of moisture to the interior of the conductor comprises a cylindrical metallic portion 5, closed at one end and adapted to be fitted on the bared conductors 3, and an enlarged portion 6 engaging with the edges of the unstripped insulation 2 and braiding 1. The enlarged end may be of insulating material or covered with insulating material 12 as in Fig. 3 which shows the protected ends of two conductors clamped together in a slotted internally-threaded member 8 provided with an insulating shroud 11.
