Abstract
1,194,994. Two-part couplings. HEGOELECTRIC G.m.b.H. 13 Jan., 1969 [27 April, 1968], No. 1887/69. Heading H2E. A lead-through terminal block for direct mounting on appliance 24, consists of an insulating housing 1 and disposed therein, contact means or terminals 7, 8 for connection of a conductor from outside the appliance to internal connections of the appliance, provision of a bore 17 for connection of a test device and an isolating member 5 which is pivotable and cooperating with knife-blade contact portions 9, 12 of the terminals for interconnecting or disconnecting said terminals. The terminals may be constructed as solder, push-on or crimp-on terminals. The terminal for connection to a conductor outside the appliance may consist of a stationary sleeve or a laterally movable sleeve (Fig. 2, not shown) provided with a bore for the mounting of a test socket 18 thereon. The isolating member 5 comprises a conductive portion and an insulating handle which when the member is in its closed position prevents accidental contact with the conductive portion. In another embodiment of the outside terminal (Fig. 3, not shown), the bore is formed on a bar or strip 6 instead of the sleeve. A number of these terminal blocks may be grouped together to form terminal strips having any desired number of poles.
