Abstract

468,394. Valve generators. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and ESPLEY, D. C. Jan. 14, 1936, No. 1208. [Class 40 (v)] A relaxation oscil lator comprises a con denser 2 charged over a resistance 1 from a source 4 and dis charged through a gas filled valve 3. The potential across 1 is applied over condense: 14 to one of the de flecting plates connected at 13, while the potential across 2 is applied to a potentiometer 11, 10 from which a tapping is taken to a valve 8 whose output is connected to the other of the deflecting plates, so that they are energized in push-pull. The time constant of the components 11, 12 is equal to the time constant of the resistance 10 and the grid-cathode capacity of valve 8. The amplification of the valve 8 may increase as the grid becomes more positive to straighten the wave form of the saw-tooth oscillation. Specification 484,111 is referred to.
