Abstract

522,637. Valve generating circuits. BULL, E. W. Dec. 16, 1938, No. 36633. [Class 40 (v)] A generator includes a condenser charged from a supply with the potential across the condenser applied to a valve whose load is inductive and a feedback between the load and the charging condenser arranged to produce a current in the load of saw-tooth form with improved linearity of the forward stroke. The Figure shows a saw-tooth voltage generator 10, 11, 21 driving current generator 12 with a feedback 19, 20'. Impedance elements 23, 24, 25 may be associated with the charged condenser 10 to form a network which is approximately the inverse of the output network so that during the fly-back the waveform describes a single positive half cycle of oscillation and thus the fly-back period is reduced. The feedback path may attenuate low frequency components so that non-linear distortion of the output current due to resistance in the circuit is reduced.
