Abstract
464,141. Valve generating circuits. FERRANTI, Ltd., and WILSON, J. C. Oct. 29, 1935, No. 29794. [Class 40 (v)] In order to develop a current or voltage of true saw-tooth form through or across an inductance or resistance in the anode circuit of a screen-grid valve, the screen is coupled to the anode circuit. Voltage impulses produced by the back-coupled valve 1 are used to time the discharges of a condenser 17 through a triode valve 13, the condenser being slowly charged through a device 16. The defective saw-tooth voltage developed across the condenser 17 is applied to the control grid of a pentode valve 22, the anode circuit of which comprises a resistance 27 shunted by a condenser 30 and scanning-coils 31. The screen is supplied with direct current through a variable resistance 29, and the voltage across the coils 31 is applied to the screen through a variable condenser 32. Alternatively a coil in series with the coils 31 may be coupled inductively to the screen-grid circuit, Fig. 7 (not shown). When a saw-tooth voltage is required across the resistance 27, the coils 31 are omitted.
