Abstract

460,693. Valve generating circuits. LORENZ AKT.-GES., C. June 12, 1936, No. 16504. Convention date, June 18, 1935. [Class 40 (v)] A back-coupled thermionic oscillator is controlled as to frequency by a separate oscillator operating at a harmonic or subharmonic frequency, and is de-tuned to such extent that the feed-back voltage and the control voltage are in phase agreement, and are of the same amplitude. As shown, the control voltage is fed to the grid of a backcoupled oscillator I having a tuned circuit S1. The valve is of screen-grid type and its anode and screen are both supplied from the same potentiometer P. Its output circuit is loosely coupled to a tuned circuit K which is coupled to a coil L connected to a rectifier G and indicator J. The circuit S1 is de-tuned to such an extent that maximum current is shown by the indicator J. Meters A are provided in the anode direct-current circuit. The oscillation generated in valve I may be fed to the grid of a further frequency-changing oscillator II fitted with similar meters and operating in similar fashion. The coils may be provided with iron cores suitable for high frequency. The system is suitable for use with common-wave broadcasting transmitters.
