Abstract

426,537. Valve generating circuits. FERNSEH AKT.-GES., Goerzallee, Zehlendorf, Berlin. Aug. 13, 1934, No. 23383. Convention date, Aug. 12, 1933. [Classes 40 (iii) and 40 (v)] The voltages required to deflect the beam of a cathode-ray tube used for television and like purposes are provided by two oppositelyconnected relaxation oscillators, the voltages of the deflecting plates being thus varied in opposite phase. One oscillator comprises a condenser 4a charged by a battery through a diode valve 5a and discharging through a triode valve 3 when the grid of that valve receives a synchronizing impulse through a transformer 1 and amplifier 2. The second oscillator comprises condenser 4b charged through a diode 5b and discharged through the same valve 3. The condensers 4a, 4b are connected in series, the intermediate point being held at a fixed potential by earthing or connection to the anode of the cathode-ray tube 8. The outer plates of the condensers are connected through variable biassing batteries 9a, 9b to the deflecting electrodes 6, 7 of the cathode-ray tube 8. The anode of the cathoderay tube may be arranged to vary in voltage in agreement with one of the electrodes 7, 8.
