Abstract
465,307. Lubricating-pumps. BLISS, J. Feb. 14, 1936, No. 4589. Addition to 444,493. [Class 102 (i)] In lubricating-apparatus as described in the parent Specification the discharge takes place through the piston member 9, the varying movements of which regulate the amount of the discharge. The pump cylinders 32 are arranged radially in the container 3 and the plungers 34 are operated by a cam 23. Each plunger controls the inlet ports 39 and has a projection 37 for operating the discharge valve 10 and thus avoiding trapping of air. The valve 10 may be a lift or a piston valve, and is seated in the member 9, which has lateral ports 13 communicating with a discharge port 15 in the cylinder. The discharge of the pump is tested by partially unscrewing a stud having passages communicating with the discharge passage. The amount of movement of the member 9 is regulated by means of a screw 20 turned by a knob 22. Leakage past the member 9 is returned to the container by a passage 26. The plunger 34 is pivoted on a pin 5 in a tappet 4, which carries a pin 7 sliding in guide slots. Specification 465,306 is referred to.
