Abstract

538,942. Door &c. operating appliances. SAFELOC#S, Ltd., BENABO, J., and EDSON, A. D. Nov. 18, 1939, No. 30357. [Class 65 (i)] In a door closer, the closing spring 31 is compressed during the opening of the door by a cam 16 on the door pivot 11 and a follower 23 pivoted at 22. The hydraulic check piston 42 is operated by the cam through a link pivoted to the cam and to a lever 37, 38 pivoted at 22. The surface 19 of the cam coacts with a stop 20. The oil &c. enters the check cylinder 43 through a transverse bore 47 and a valve 50, and is expelled through a port 51 restricted by an adjustable pin 52.
