[Classes 123 (ii) and 123 (iii)] A superheater consisting of vertically arranged multiple-loop tubes placed between upper and lower banks of boiler tubes 10, 12, is supported by brackets 44, 50 welded to the top of each multiple loop, and the upper limbs of each multiple loop are rigidly connected together at the middle and ends by webs 76, 80, the lower limbs being freely connected by hangers 95, which allow relative longitudinal and transverse movement of thelimbs. The brackets 44, 50 rest on rollers in brackets 42, 45 welded respectively to the header connectors 38 and the lower tubes of the upper boiler tube bank. The tubes 20 connecting the superheater inlet header 14 to the loops are arranged side by side and covered with tiles to form a gas baffle 26, which is so held by adjustable tension rods 122 as to prevent excessive bending of the tubes. The outlet header 34 is supported by curved beams 130 secured to the connectors 38, and to the boiler headers 32. The lowest tubes of the upper tube bank 10 is supported intermediate its ends by beams 62, which are connected by oblique rods 66 to an upper beam 64 connected to tension rods 70 depending from the boiler framework.
