464,268. Light - - sensitive cells; contact rectifiers. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN. Nov. 19, 1936, No. 31732. Convention date, Nov. 22, 1935. [Class 40 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXVI] In a dry rectifier or lightsensitive cell the selenium 3 is deposited on an amalgamated layer 2 on the support 1, which may be of brass. copper or aluminium. To increase the conductivity of the selenium, mercuric chloride or calcium tungstate may be added. The insulating material 4 may be polystyrene applied as a solution in benzene. The electrode 5 may be Wood's metal.
