Abstract
270,514. Mond, A. L., (Warlimont, F.). June 22, 1926. Tin, obtaining; electrolytes, protecting.-In the electrolytic recovery of tin from an alkaline electrolyte such as a solution of sodium sulphide, the electrolyte is covered, in order to prevent oxidation or evaporation, with an unsaponifiable substance which is liquid at 80‹-110‹ C. and has a considerably higher boiling point, e.g. paraffin wax or other saturated hydrocarbon. The elec. trolysis may take place at 90‹ C.
