Abstract

An alloy for the wires in contact with the tanning liquid in an electrolytic tanning process consists of 60 per cent of lead, 5 per cent of mercury, 3 per cent of antimony, and 32 per cent of zinc. An alloy for the electrodes consists of 45 per cent of lead, 8 per cent of mercury, 3 per cent of antimony, and 44 per cent of zinc.
