[Class 38 (i)] [Also in Groups II and XXXVII] The surface of a contact made of aluminium is coated with a thin even film of oxide to prevent the formation of irregular and heavier films. The oxide may be formed by electrolytic or chemical means, e.g., by heating in an oxidizing medium as by dipping into a hot solution of sodium carbonate and sodium bichromate.
