Abstract

463,095. Fountain pens. WADA, S., (Tsuchija, K.) Feb. 5, 1936, No. 3535. [Class 146 (iii)] In a piston self-filling fountain pen of the kind having the lower end of the piston rod formed as a valve to co-operate with a seat in the ink-feed duct, the rod is yieldably mounted in the operating-knob so as to prevent strain if the knob is screwed in too far, and to prevent rotation of the valve and consequent wear. The rear end of the rod e passes through a nut l, which serves for adjusting the length of the rod, into the hollow interior of a knob d screwing on to the end of the barrel a. The rear end of the rod is provided with a nut k; and a compression spring m is mounted between the nut and the base of the knob d.
