Abstract
472,382. Fountain pens. STERN, S. March 31, 1937, No. 9231. Convention date, March 31, 1936. [Class 146 (iii)] In a fountain pen, filling is effected by means of a diaphragm 12 clamped at its margin and adapted to be stretched by means of a plunger 10, the tension so produced in the diaphragm serving to restore it to normal position. The diaphragm is secured in the barrel by means of a wedgeshaped ring 11 engaged by a bush 8 or a ring screwed into place and serving to guide and limit the movement of the plunger. The plunger may be hollow and house a return spring.
