458,122. Aircraft alighting gear. DOWTY, G. H., Arle Court, Cheltenham, and GENERAL AIRCRAFT, Ltd., London Air Park, Feltham, Middlesex. June 14, 1935, No. 17202. [Class 4] In a retractable aircraft undercarriage comprising a pivoted compression leg 2 of lever-like construction, and an articulated link 11 connected to a fixedly aligned hydraulic jack 16, the link when the undercarriage is extended is approximately perpendicular to the line of movement of the jack. As shown, a landing wheel 5 is carried between shock-absorber members 2 connected by bracing and pivoted at their upper ends to the aircraft. The members 1, 2 are connected to members 9, 8 which are connected by the link 11 to the ram of the hydraulic jack 16, the ram is guided by a tubular member 14 rigidly secured between aircraft frame members 15, 18.
