[Class 83 (iv)] A tube extrusion press comprises a mandrel 6 which is loosely inserted in its carrier 7 by a spigot 8, and which is movable independently of the extrusion ram 4, there being a shoulder 9 on the mandrel the front face of which lies in the plane of the working face of the pressure disc 5 during the extrusion operation. The shoulder 9 is of substantially the same diameter as the die 3 so that it may be moved therethrough after the operation to shear the residue.
