515,745. Flanging tubes. HASLAM, E., and HOLLAND & HANNEN & CUBITTS. Ltd. June 7, 1938, No. 16904. [Class 83 (iv)] Tubes, for example copper tubes, are flanged by clamping in a two-part die 1 having a recess 6 and applying end pressure by a tool 7 having an annular recess 10 to receive the end of the tube, a spigot 8 to support the tube internally and an annular surface 9 to coact with the recess 6. The die parts may be lined with soft metal such as brass.
