813,145. Pipe couplings. EDDY, F. H. Nov. 18, 1957 [Dec. 6, 1956], No. 37362/56. Class 99(1). A body A of copper has at least two belledout end portions G each disposed within a screwthreaded member C, each of the latter being adapted to receive a pipe F having secured thereto a ring E of copper or other corrosionresistant metal or alloy. A member D is screwed on to the member C to retain the ring E sealingly against the belled-out end H of the body. As shown, a backing member B is located in the member C to provide a seating for the end H. In a modification, the member C comprises an externally screw-threaded tube engaged by an internally screw-threaded member D, the member B being omitted.
