Abstract
526,359. Straightening and bending. SOC. A R. L DITE ETABLISSEMENTS VERBOOM & DUROUCHARD. March 14,1939, No. 8169. Convention date, June 4, 1938. [Class 83 (iv)] In straightening or bending by a fluid-actuated ram means is provided for effecting a predetermined deflection. The top surface of the workpiece is adjusted to contact the surface of the ram 6 at the bottom of the stroke. The end of the ram 6 is then lowered by the predetermined amount by a screw connection 8 with the ram and a vernier scale. The stroke of the press results in required deflection. Instead of lengthening the ram the work support may be raised.
