Abstract

450,157. Stamping. HUMPHRIS, F., Park House, Park Road, Parkstone, Dorset. Jan. 10, 1935, No. 825. [Class 83 (iv)] [See also Group V] Cupping.-In a press for producing drawn articles from strip or plastic material the head k carries a punch A and knockout B. The bed L carries the drawing mechanism and a die G. On descent of the head K, pins D engage pins E to depress a transmitter-plate p which lowers an adjustable sleeve j screwed into an adjustable spring-supported slide d. An abutment f at the bottom of the slide d lowers minor edge supporting plates e and raises major plates c secured to an adjustable ram b carrying the tool holding block m to raise the drawing tool n. The linkage c, e is arranged with knuckle joints as shown in the Figure. The tool-holding block m is adjusted in the ram b by a screw thread and is locked by a check nut. The work-holder F is actuated by a spring t from the tool-holding block m.
