Abstract

1469076 Press tools VEREINIGTE OSTERREICHISCHE EISEN - UND STAHLWERKE - ALPINE MONTAN AG 6 Aug 1975 [21 Oct 1974] 32883/75 Heading B3E A metal folding press comprises an upper punch 4 on a ram 2 and a lower die 3 on a platen 1, and a further tool 5 which can be connected to the upper punch to form a punch for use with the lower die or inserted into the lower die to form a die for use with the upper punch. In the figure, the tool 5 is shown retained on the upper punch by pairs of tie rods 6, which can be unlocked from tool 5 by being rotated through 90 degrees by couplings 9, 13 operated by pneumatic jacks through rods 15. The tie rods are then withdrawn by pneumatic actuators 18, 17. The tool 5 can be reconnected to the punch by the reverse sequence. The use of tool 5 may be replaceable.
