Abstract
455,169. Saddles. TERRY, A. V., Oakenshaw, Headless Cross, Redditch,Worcestershire. Oct. 15, 1935, No. 28381. [Class 136 (iii)] A cycle saddle comprises an underframe and an upper seat-supporting frame, between the rear parts of which a number of compression springs are interposed, certain of such springs being capable of ready detach. ment and attachment without the use of tools, whereby the number of springs may be varied to suit riders of different weights, or different road conditions, &c. The underframe may be of duplex wire form, and is curved upwardly at its rear to support a cross-bar or plate c beneath the cantle plate d of the top, and two or more coil springs e are bolted permanently between the plates, which are also provided with studs c<1>, d<1> for the attachment of other removable springs e<1>, which are compressed to enable their end coils to be fitted over the studs. In the form shown, a single spring e<1> may be attached to the central studs or two springs to the outer studs. At the front the top may have a pivotal or a spring connection to the underframe.
