Abstract

189,378. Keyworth, P. Feb. 2, 1922. Seat attachments.-A pillion or other seat for motor-cycles or cars comprises a hard-wood base B and spiral springs C supporting a wire frame D finished with a padded top. A shaped backrest E of sheet iron with a wire-beaded edge and a padded front is fixed to the base B, and upholstering is provided. Flat steel frames or brackets G, G' secured to the base B have screwed spindles H, H<1> riveted into their ends, these spindles passing through struts riveted to the frames. Each spindle has two adjustable double clamps J, J<1> with tightening-nuts, by which the whole device is secured to the carrier or supports, in a position to suit riding astride or sideways. The brackets G, G<1> serve to tilt the seat, as required.
