Abstract

228,408. Palethorpe, J. May 19, 1924. Saddles and seats; back-rests. - A seat or saddle for motor-cycles, motor-cars &c. consists of a number of shaped leaf springs 11, which are clamped at their ends between members secured to the cycle frame &c., and are so shaped as to form an inclined resilient back support. The front ends of the springs are clamped between plates 5, 6 secured by straps 9 to the cycle frame. The rear ends are clamped to or between plates 12 supported by struts 14, 16, a U-shaped stay 17, and diagonal struts 18. The springs 11 may be covered or padded.
