Abstract

202,675. Stevenson, F. R. April 21, 1922. Spring surfaces.-A spring cushion comprises in combination a foundation frame a, an upper frame f, an intermediate frame k, springs c attached to the frame a and supporting the frames f and k, and a. series of cross wires b to support the springs c. The lower coils of the springs c may be secured to the cross wires b by means of two metal strips d, secured together at right angles, their slotted ends being bent around the lower coil. The springs s of the outer row are preferably conical, their lower ends being secured by cone-shaped split thimbles c'. The springs are preferably connected near their middle parts by discs l and wires n, while diagonal stays p, extending from the upper frame to the lower or intermediate frame, may be provided.
