Abstract
454,667. Valves. BLACKWELL, J., 48, Walter Street, Blackburn. May 1, 1935, No. 12947. [Class 7 (vi)] A rotary valve A for two-stroke engines has ports K<1>, L<1> controlling inlet from the carburetter at K to the crank case at L, the charge being compressed by the piston into the hollow valve, which forms a transfer passage, and through ports M, M<1> at the upper end into the cylinder, neither of the ports L or M being controlled by the piston. The upper bearing D<2> for the valve is shouldered at J to take end thrust, and is fitted with a packing-ring X.
