Abstract
451,280. Bourdon pressure gauges. DEWRANCE, SIR J., 165, Great Dover Street, Southwark, London. Jan. 4, 1936, No. 422/35. [Class 106 (ii)] Relates to gauges of the type in which the free end of the tube is connected directly to the spindle operating member of the indicating needle by a pin-and-slot connection and consists in providing spring means to maintain the pin up against the working face of the slot. The quadrant lever 3 operating through a rack 4, the pinion 5 on the pointer spindle is extended beyond its pivot 9 and is provided with a pin 10 engaging a slot 12 in a member 13 fixed to the free end of the tube 15. A light coil spring 20 acts on the spindle 6 and tends to keep the pin 10 against the working face of the slot 12. The pin may be carried on the member 13 and the slot provided in the lever 3. In a modification, a lever fast on the spindle 6 is provided with a slot engaging a pin on the part 13. The area of the working face of the slot may be enlarged by a flat plate 19 to reduce wear.
