Abstract

444,684. Impact pulverizers. HAMRING, P. E., Histholmen, Stockholm. Nov. 30, 1935, No. 33279. Convention date, July 24. [Class 59] In a mill comprising a beater wheel 7 arranged in a casing 1 and surrounded by a perforated stationary drum 9 into which the material to be disintegrated is supplied through one or more inlets 11, and in which the space between the drum and casing communicates through one or more adjustable supply openings with the outer air and with a suction discharge conduit 18, one or more valved supply channels 15 are provided which open into the drum. The feed tube 11 projects through a pipe connection 10 on the drum the air supply to the annular channel 15 being controlled by a rotating valve 16 provided with holes in register with similar holes provided in an annular disc in the end of the pipe 10. Air inlets 12 to the space between the drum and casing are provided with valves 14 so that the quantity of air passing inside and outside of the drum may be regulated. The crushed material is drawn through the drum by a fan and is discharged through orifice 18.
