Abstract
843,570. Grinding mills; centrifugal separators. BARRON & SON Ltd., W. S., ROWLES, A. H., and LAWRIE, A. M. B. March 31, 1959 [March 27, 1958], No. 9822/58. Classes 23 and 59 A grinding mill comprises a rotary beater or beaters 17 co-operating with a fixed circumferential grinding ring 14 provided with ports 15, Fig. 3, communicating with axial passages 16, and an adjustable inlet 21 for supplying atmospheric air to the grinding chamber 12, the ground material from the passages 16 being received in a rotary cylindrical classifier 23 having perforations 24, Fig. 4, and vanes 25 and being urged into a settling chamber by means of atmospheric air induced through an adjustable inlet 31 by a fan 29. The classifier is disposed within a chamber 26 the wall 27 of which acts to return to the beater or beaters material rejected by the classifier. A worm 9 feeds material to be ground into the mill. In a modification, the classifier is of disc form.
