Abstract

939,206. Pulverisers; centrifugal separators. SOC. ULTRAFINE DE L'UNION FRANCAISE. June 26, 1962 [Jan. 19, 1962], No. 24485/62. Classes 23 and 59. A pulveriser comprises a cylindrical housing 1 containing a coaxial rotor 2 having radial blades 3, an inlet chamber coaxial with and surrounding a part of the rotor, and a conduit 4 for receiving the material to be ground, air and recycled products through respective inlets 6, 7, 5 and supplying them to the inlet chamber. The material to be ground is fed to the inlet 6 by a feed screw 11 and the air inlet 7 is controlled by a flap 13. The material to be ground or reground and the air are mixed in the portion 8 of the conduit 4 and fed to the housing 1 through a central opening 9 in the inlet chamber. The blades 3 may be made of a 15% chromium alloy. The ground material, which leaves at the top of the pulveriser, is directed through a cylindrical grader 20, Fig. 4, where oversize particles are rejected to the inlet 5 of the conduit 4 when they are overcome by centrifugal force in the expansion zone 25.
