Abstract

323,472. Ateliers RÚunis, and Hippert, F. Sept. 29, 1928. Pneumatic separating.-A separator for a pulverizing mill comprises a chamber A, Figs. 1 and 2, which may be divided into equal compartments 15. Each compartment terminates in an outlet 24 which releases the air and products from the. mill in a thin layer of straight, curved or annular form which is aspirated throughout its length by a second current, of air induced by a fan 23 which carries off the fine products, shutters or valves 20, 25 being arranged in the walls of the chamber and suction duct of the fan respectively to vary the force of air current and so regulate the fineness of the finished product. The suction to the fan 23 from the hopper 21 passes through a triangularly shaped slot 22a in a. pipe 22. An additional air inlet 33 is provided on the suction side of the fan 23 to allow the quantity of air drawn in by the fan to be varied independently of that which passes to the separator. The suction pipe 22 may be, placed higher in the chamber A and the outlet 24 is then annular in shape. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 229,056.
