Abstract

385,014. Pneumatic separating. ALLGEMEINE ELEKTRICITATS-GES., 2, Friedrich Karl-Ufer, Berlin. Aug. 7, 1931, No. 22401. Convention date, Aug. 9, 1930. [Class 117.] In pneumatic separators of the kind in which a separating chamber j has an internal baffle plate c against which a current of air carrying particles in suspension is projected from a pipe a so that the heavier particles fall into the chamber j and the lighter particles are carried off by the air through outlet passages d, the entrance to the passages d is controlled by crescent-shaped valves f pivoted about their central axes g. Additional control may be provided by flap valves n hinged to the edges of the baffle plate. In the construction described, the separating chamber j is rectangular in horizontal section at its widest part and has pyramidal top and bottom walls jl, j<2>. The passages d are formed between the top walls and a pyramidal cap m on the baffle plate.
