Abstract
379,761. Impact pulverizers. OTTO, J., 115, Landgrafenstrasse, Lindenthal, Cologne, Germany. June 5, 1931, No. 16536. [Class 59.] In a beater mill with two oppositely rotating discs b, s, mounted on a horizontal axis and provided with intercalating pins m, and to which the material to be ground is supplied by means of centrifugal scoops secured to one of the discs and disposed in the grinding chamber, the scoops c extend close to the rows of pins and are mounted helically on a deflecting cone d of an inlet hub a, the cone being disposed on the shaft of the mill and tapering conically towards the inlet, and the scoops dividing the inlet passage, of approximately constant annular cross section formed in the inlet hub, in an approximately radial direction. The disc s is mounted on a tubular shaft o and the hub a with removable disc b is mounted on a shaft n. The feed inlet passage discharges into an annular supply passage e and the scoops c may be extended at i to enter this passage or radial guide scoops g, Fig. 3, may be inserted in the passage to direct the material in the direction of rotation of the scoops c.
