[Classes 7 (iii) and 7 (vi)] In means for controlling the fuel supplied to the cylinders in accordance with the pressure in the air-supply conduit, the fuel nozzle 9 is controlled by a needle valve 10 connected to a piston 11 subjected by a connection 14 to the air pressure, preferably at a point between a manually-actuated throttle 16 and an automatic eccentrically - mounted throttle 17 in the air-supply conduit 15, a small quantity of air being drawn in with the fuel, through a Venturi 8, which is also adjusted by the valve 10. The rich mixture thus formed is heated in passage 7 and enters past a valve 6 into a hot bulb 3, provided with a sparking-plug 5 and with a Venturi connection 4 to the cylinder.
