[Class 135] In a valve in which a flexible diaphragm e peripherally clamped by a cover g co-operates with an annular seating b, the diaphragm has a thickened portion f formed integrally on its seating side and has embedded in it a plate or the like k connected to the actuating stem r. The stem r is depressed by a quadruple cam s coacting with the correspondingly shaped underface t of the cover on rotation of the handle u through 90‹. In Fig. 2 (not shown), the stem is depressed by a cam swinging on a horizontal pivot; and in Fig. 1 (not shown) the stem is screwed down.
