Abstract

222,775. Smith, E. W., and Smith Meters, Ltd. April 10, 1924. Closure members; faces.- In a valve member for use in prepaid or coin-freed gas meters a leather &c. facing washer b, Figs. 1 and 2, is secured over the face of the valve member a by means of a securing-ring c which grips the washer on the outer part of its flat face and also over its outer edge, as shown, by means of the bendable arms 3, 4. The ring c is preferably of slightly tapered form, as shown in Fig. 2.
